TIMBERLANE’S BRADLEY A CLASSIC CHOICE

 

PITTSBURGH – Eric Bradley, a two-time New Hampshire state champion from Timberlane Regional High School, has been selected to participate on the United States team in the 26th annual Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic scheduled for Saturday March 25 at the University of Pittsburgh’s Fitzgerald Field House.

He will compete at 171 pounds.

Bradley of Plaistow, N.H., went 51-3 as a junior in 1998-99 to win the 189-pound championship, his second consecutive state crown. As a sophomore, Bradley won 29 of 35 bouts and won the 160-pound championship.

As a freshman, Bradley went 21-10 and placed second in the state tournament.

He won the High School National Open in Alabama and was fourth in the 1998 Delaware Mid-Atlantic tournament.

He entered the season ranked No. 2 by Asic’s.

Bradley is the son of James and Virginia Bradley and he is coached by Barry Chooljian.

The Dapper Dan Classic, partially funded by UPMC Health System, benefits the boys and girls club of Western Pennsylvania.

The Wrestling classic, dubbed "The Rose Bowl of Wrestling," is the premier high school all-star dual meet in the United States.

The preliminary match will feature WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania) stars going against Nebraska’s best at 5:30 p.m. The main event – Pennsylvania versus USA will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Pennsylvania leads the series 14-10-1.
